Big Spiel

The Twin Cities Curling Association's Big Spiel finished up this past weekend. The 96-team spiel had teams from 22 states and 53 clubs participate. This year was the 10th anniversary of the event. A huge thank you to an amazing group of club volunteers who helped the spiel run so smoothly. From check-in, hospitality, updating draw boards, decorating, cleaning, and so much more, we were so appreciative of the member volunteer support. Curling guests were treated to a first-class experience.

Guentzel Rink Wins U18 Championship

A big congratulations to Mason Guentzel, Will Podhradsky, Leighton Hines, Jackson Askew, and Coach Tim Solin on capturing the U18 National Championship this past week in Lafayette, CO. 

The team went undefeated in pool play and defeated Team Kadlec out of Wisconsin in the semi-finals and Team Rose from the Mid-America Curling Association in the finals. A big steal of three in the 6th end helped break the game open en route to a 9-3 victory.

On the girl's side, a Minnesota team, skipped by Allory Johnson, won the championship. Allory and her teammates Gianna Johnson, Bailey Vaydich, Madeline Muscatell, and Coach Chris Johnson curl out of the Four Seasons Curling Club in Blaine.

Chaska also had other members participate in the event, gaining great experience for future years. Congrats to all!

Beginner League

Our Friday 8pm beginner league is full! We are thrilled to welcome the 12 teams of new curlers into the league. The first week will be staffed with instructors and volunteers to assist the teams with questions and help with rules, game play, scoring, etc. 

We would like to have members volunteer for the remaining league nights. Your role would be to help the new curlers feel welcome, learn the rules, and have fun on the ice!

Brick City Bonspiel

The Brick City Open Bonspiel is open for registration. The spiel will run March 7-9 and is a 3-game guarantee. Food is provided on Saturday. 

Our next bonspiel after the Brick City will be the Fire and Ice in July.

League Make-up Dates

March 17-19 will be held for league make-up dates. Games can be played at 6 or 8pm. A link will be provided on the website in the coming weeks. You can also email or call in to request a date/time, and we'll get it booked for you. Members are welcome to coordinate other times to schedule games. Weekends or other weekday open ice times are available. Let the Curling Center staff know how we can help.
