Minnesota Broadband Line Extension Connection Program

The Minnesota Broadband Line Extension Connection Program, administered by the Office of Broadband Development (OBD), helps connect homes and businesses without reliable broadband service (defined as internet speeds below 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload).

If a wired broadband connection is not available at a residence or business location, individuals can notify OBD by:

  • Submitting an online application
  • Calling (651) 259-7610 to request a paper application
  • Speaking directly with OBD staff, who can assist in completing the application

The program has $15 million in total funding, with a maximum of $25,000 available per line extension.

Walk Your Plan

Location: 3740 N chestnut St #100

Walk Your Plans is a one-of-a-kind experience where you can literally walk through your floor plan at full scale before it’s ever built. Unlike staring at a flat blueprint or spinning around a 3D rendering, Walk Your Plans puts you inside the design—walls, doors, hallways, and all. It’s not abstract. It’s not theoretical. It’s your future home or project, laid out in real space so you can feel what works and what doesn’t.

Can you tell us the story behind Walk Your Plans? What inspired you to start it?
Like most, we saw it on social media first. Instantly, we knew we needed to bring it to MN. With decades of residential real estate experience between us, we noticed that homeowners often made costly changes during construction—issues that could have been identified much earlier if they had been able to physically experience their plans. A hallway that felt too tight. A living room that didn’t flow. Windows in the wrong spot. These aren’t small tweaks; they’re expensive headaches.

This tool would help eliminate homeowners saying, “I wish we had known…” after the build was already underway. That’s how Walk Your Plans MN was born—turning what was once guesswork into confidence.

What can a customer expect when they walk into one of your floor plan experiences?
They can expect to be blown away. We project their floor plan at a true-to-life scale inside our space. Clients literally walk through their future home—standing in the kitchen, testing out sightlines, even pacing the distance between the mudroom and garage.

It’s not just walking; it’s discovering. People bring tape measures, furniture dimensions, and even family members to see how everything fits. You’ll leave knowing your plan works—or with the clarity to make changes before it’s too late.

What’s one common change people make in home design that Walk Your Plans helps them catch?
Hallways and door placements are big ones. On paper, a three-foot hallway looks fine. In reality? You walk it and realize it feels cramped. Same with doors swinging into each other or a window that looks perfect in CAD but is awkward when you actually stand there.

Another common “aha moment” is furniture fit. Suddenly, you realize the sectional won’t fit in the family room—or worse, it fits but blocks the fireplace. These are the details that Walk Your Plans brings to life.

How does “walking through” a floor plan change the way people make design decisions?
It eliminates second-guessing. When you walk your plan, you stop wondering and start knowing. Instead of “I think this will work,” it becomes, “I’ve tested it, and I love it.”

It also gives decision-makers confidence. Couples who argue over layouts often find they suddenly agree once they experience the space together. Builders and designers save time, because clients aren’t endlessly revising based on imagination—they’re deciding based on lived experience.

What’s your favorite story or success from a client using Walk Your Plans?
One of my favorites was a family who realized their “dream kitchen” wasn’t actually dream-worthy. On paper, the island looked massive and luxurious. When they walked it, they saw it was awkward, cut off flow, and made the space feel smaller. We reconfigured it with them in real time, and they left relieved rather than locked into a costly mistake.

That family later told me it was the single best decision they made in their entire building process. That’s the kind of win Walk Your Plans delivers.

What’s one thing you wish more people knew about Walk Your Plans?
That it’s not just for “big” projects. Yes, we help with custom homes and major builds, but we’re just as valuable for remodels, additions, and even commercial spaces. If you’re investing in walls, doors, or layout, you deserve to know how it will actually feel before you commit.

Bottom line: Walk Your Plans saves people time, money, and regret. It makes building exciting instead of stressful.
