Business Spotlight

Darabi Dermatology

Location: 1107 Hazeltine Blvd, Ste 500

Darabi Dermatology began with a simple but powerful mission: to provide compassionate, expert skin care to patients in Carver county without the long waits and changing providers often found in larger health systems. Founded by Dr. Kamruz Darabi, a triple board-certified dermatologist in Dermatology, Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and Dermatopathology, the clinic opened its doors in 2021. What started as a single location has grown into a trusted center for comprehensive skin health, serving patients across the west metro and central Minnesota with both medical and cosmetic dermatology.

Today, Darabi Dermatology offers same-week appointments, advanced treatments for skin cancer, acne, eczema, and psoriasis, as well as a full spectrum of cosmetic services—from advanced lasers and microneedling to PRP and injectables such as BotoxÒ and fillers. In 2025, the clinic expanded with a new Hutchinson location, bringing high-quality dermatologic care closer to rural communities that often lack timely access to specialists.

Built on the values of teamwork, compassion, and honesty, Darabi Dermatology has become known not only for its clinical excellence, but also for its personal approach. Every patient is treated like family, and every visit reflects the clinic’s belief that healthy skin builds confidence, comfort, and quality of life.

What inspired you to open your dermatology practice?

I founded Darabi Dermatology with a clear vision shaped by years of medical training and practice. Having earned triple board certification in Dermatology, Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and Dermatopathology, I recognized a growing need in the southwest Twin Cities metro for accessible, high-quality skin care. Patients often faced long wait times or had to travel far to see a dermatologist—delays that could mean worsening conditions or missed opportunities for early detection of skin cancer.

Equally important was the desire to create a practice that embodied values often lost in larger healthcare systems: compassion, honesty, and personal connection. I wanted a clinic where every patient could feel heard, cared for, and treated like family. By opening Darabi Dermatology, I set out to build a welcoming, professional environment where expert care meets genuine human connection—one where patients could not only trust the medical expertise but also feel comforted by the approach.

Are there any treatments or technologies you're especially excited about right now?

At Darabi Dermatology, patients have access to some of the most advanced treatments available in modern dermatology. Our clinic provides Mohs micrographic surgery, the gold standard for treating many types of skin cancer. This highly precise procedure allows for the complete removal of cancerous tissue while sparing as much healthy skin as possible, leading to the highest cure rates and the best cosmetic outcomes.

In addition we offer a full suite of state-of-the-art cosmetic treatments designed to restore and maintain healthy, youthful skin. The clinic features multiple specialized lasers that can target fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, red and brown spots, acne scars, and even improve overall skin texture. Treatments are customized for each patient, whether the goal is smoother skin, more even tone, or advanced rejuvenation.

The practice also focuses on hair and scalp health, offering therapies to strengthen thinning hair and encourage natural regrowth. For patients seeking ongoing support between visits, we have developed a carefully curated skin care product line, combining medical-grade effectiveness with everyday usability. These products extend the benefits of in-clinic treatments, helping patients protect, nourish, and enhance their skin at home.

You recently opened a new location in Hutchinson, what inspired the decision to expand?

The decision to open a second location in Hutchinson was inspired by the same vision that led to the founding of Darabi Dermatology—making expert skin care more accessible. In many rural communities, patients often wait months for a dermatology appointment or travel long distances to see a specialist. Our team recognized that Hutchinson and the surrounding towns deserved the same timely, high-quality care available in larger metro areas.

By opening the Hutchinson clinic in 2025, Darabi Dermatology is bridging that gap. The new location brings the same advanced dermatology closer to home for thousands of patients in the counties of McLeod, Meeker, Wright, Renville, Sibley and beyond. Just like the flagship Chaska clinic, the Hutchinson office is built on the values of compassion, honesty, and teamwork, ensuring that patients not only receive expert care but also feel welcomed and supported every step of the way.

Can you tell us about your team and what makes them unique?

The team at Darabi Dermatology stands out because of the rare combination of world-class expertise and genuine compassion. Led by Dr. Kamruz Darabi the clinic brings an unmatched depth of training in its leadership. This means that whether a patient needs a routine skin check, advanced skin cancer surgery, or cosmetic rejuvenation, they are cared for by a team with the highest level of medical knowledge.

But technical skill alone isn’t what defines the practice. Darabi Dermatology was built on values of teamwork, honesty, and compassion, and those values shape how the entire staff works together and connects with patients. Each team member is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel heard, respected, and supported. Appointments are unhurried, questions are encouraged, and care is personalized—something that sets the clinic apart from larger health systems.

Together, the Darabi Dermatology team combines advanced medical science with a warm, patient-first approach, making expert dermatologic care both highly effective and deeply human.

What advice do you always find yourself giving patients?

There is one piece of advice I find giving again and again: take your skin seriously, and don’t wait to seek care. Whether it’s a new spot, a persistent rash, or a change in a mole, early evaluation makes all the difference—not only in catching skin cancer at its most treatable stage but also in preventing everyday conditions from becoming long-term problems.

I also reminds patients that healthy skin is built on daily habits: consistent sunscreen use, gentle skin care routines, and protecting the skin’s natural barrier. Cosmetic treatments and medical therapies can achieve incredible results, but the foundation of lifelong skin health starts at home.

It’s a philosophy that reflects the heart of Darabi Dermatology: combining cutting-edge treatments with practical, compassionate guidance—so every patient leaves not just with healthier skin, but with the knowledge and confidence to keep it that way.
