The City of Chaska does not issue electrical permits or have Electrical Inspectors on staff. A separate request for permit and inspection must be filed with the State Board of Electricity at or before commencement of any electrical wiring that is required by law to be inspected. An owner who wishes to do his own electrical wiring may obtain a Request for Inspection form by visiting the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry's electrical inspections forms page.

The State Board of Electricity may be reached by telephone at 651-284-5026 for inspection-related inquiries. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 7 to 8:30 a.m. It is the responsibility of the person filing the request for inspection to call for all required inspections.
